Post-operative recovery in Miami
Surgery is one day. Recovery is the eight to twelve weeks that decide what your result actually looks like. This is the part most Miami clinics hand you on a printed sheet and leave you to figure out alone.
Aliestetic is an aesthetic center in Miami. Surgery is performed by an affiliated board-certified plastic surgeon, and the entire recovery program happens here, in our own location: manual lymphatic drainage, wood therapy, carboxytherapy and a 45 minute wellness protocol.
These guides exist because the honest answers are hard to find. How many drainage sessions you actually need. When it is safe to start, and when starting too early makes swelling worse. What fibrosis feels like versus what normal healing feels like. When a seroma stops being something to watch and becomes something to call about.
We wrote them with published sources and we say plainly when the evidence is thin or when the answer depends on your surgeon rather than on us. Where a guide contradicts what the market usually promises, we left the contradiction in.

What does post-operative recovery after body surgery in Miami involve?
Recovery after body contouring surgery such as liposuction, Lipo 360 or a Brazilian butt lift runs far longer than the operation itself, with swelling that can persist for around six weeks according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and a result that keeps refining for months. The core of the program is manual lymphatic drainage, a light technique that moves accumulated fluid and is typically started once the operating surgeon clears it, not on a fixed calendar. Around that sit later-phase tools such as wood therapy and carboxytherapy, plus compression garment staging. Aliestetic, an aesthetic center in Miami, provides this entire program at its own location for patients whose surgery was performed by an affiliated board-certified plastic surgeon, including patients who travel to Miami from other states and need their sessions scheduled before they land.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to have had surgery with your affiliated surgeon to book recovery sessions?
No. Many patients have surgery elsewhere in Miami and come to Aliestetic for the recovery program. What we do need is clearance from the surgeon who operated on you, because when it is safe to start depends on your procedure and how your tissue is healing, and that is their call, not ours.
How soon after surgery should I start?
It depends on the procedure and on your surgeon. The important part is that earlier is not automatically better: firm work on tissue that is still acutely inflamed can increase swelling and bruising rather than reduce it. The individual guides go into this by procedure.
How many sessions will I need?
That varies widely with the procedure, how much was done and how your body responds. Anyone quoting you a single number before seeing you is guessing. The per-procedure guides give the ranges reported in practice and explain what moves you up or down within them.
Do you treat patients who are only in Miami for a short stay?
Yes, and that is a large part of what we do. Patients travelling for surgery usually need their sessions concentrated into the days they are in the city. Scheduling that before you arrive is the difference between a full protocol and whatever slots happen to be free.
